Today, I was preparing an article on another topic, but I felt like posting this before posting that. Recently, I was talking to my friend about things happening in my life and was actually asking her, ‘Why nothing is working out even if I am trying?”. Her answer was simple. She replied me, ‘Might be God wants it to happen in His time. If He has promised you that, it will surely happen. Only thing is we have to WAIT for HIS TIME’.
And then I sat to look into my mails, which is my regular routine and I got a mail from a brother saying, ‘Never doubt on God’. I knew, it is hard for us in situations when we are suppressed and when we don’t know, what is happening in our life and what is going to happen in our future.
It took so much time (probably a week) for me to come out of that anxious state. I couldn’t even celebrate my birthday peacefully, which happened to be on last Saturday. My mobile and Facebook page flooded with so many messages but I missed something – ‘the spirit of celebration’.
But, we have a God who never leave us nor forsake us. Finally, He helped me to come out of that situation. Even now, I couldn’t say that ‘I will never go back to my anxious state again’ because, ‘when I start thinking and keep asking questions, I couldn’t help myself from going to that stage’. But, I can come out of that with the help my Savior as He has promised me, ‘When I am weak, He will become stronger’ and ‘strengthen me when I am under that situation’. The only thing I need to keep saying to my heart is, ‘HE KNOWS’. These two words should be never far away from our mind, heart and lips. And this is always coupled with the phrase, ‘God is FAITHFUL’.
1 Corinthians 10:13(AMP) says,
No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].
So, why should we doubt Him?
There is an incident that happened in the Bible, which is presented in Luke 8:22-25. Jesus with his disciples sails on a boat. And there was a windstorm. The disciples got afraid of it and start waking up Jesus who was sleeping in the boat. Verse 24 says, ‘He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters’.
Instead of trusting in the words that Jesus said on v22, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake”, the disciples were filled with fear. Their faith was blown away by the storm causing them to fear for their lives. No wonder Jesus asked them, “Where is your Faith?” after calming the storm (v.25).
And, it’s the same question He asks us today when we’re tempted to panic or become overly anxious about this-or-that. Has He not promised that He will “supply ALL our need according to His Riches in Glory?” (Philippians 4:19). Yes He has promised us and we should simply put our trust in Him and believe what He said and what He says. Being a mother, I knew how my daughter trusts me when I take her out. She knows that her mom won’t leave her anywhere. She doesn’t care about the people on the road. She just shouts and talks in her unknown language to me believing that I am there to take care of her. They don’t care what is happening rather enjoy things at that moment. That is the trust, our God is expecting from us. We need to rest in His Grace, confident that He will always keep His Promises.
Dear friend, the same Lord Who said “I know the thoughts that I think toward you—thoughts of Peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end, i.e., Hope in the latter end” (Jer. 29:11) is “the same yesterday, today and forever” (Heb. 11:8); so trust Him continually, expectantly and exclusively.
So, what things are weighing you down today? What burdens are you carrying that are robbing you of His Joy and peace-of-mind? Isn’t it about time to “cast them upon Him, knowing that He cares for you” (I Peter 5:7)? Isn’t it time to heed His Invitation to “come and be yoked to Him” instead of trying to do things on your own (Matthew. 11:28-30)? Believe me, whenever I am down, He helps me to come out of it when I put my trust on Him.
Yes, most certainly it is. Today’s the day to start. Trust. Rest. Receive. What are you waiting on? Start now.
