Today, as soon as I logged into my laptop, my one and a half year old daughter climbed up into my lap to start operating it. I had a document opened in my laptop to check some details, but, when my daughter’s tiny little fingers took control over my keyboard, my word document started experiencing so many alterations and also some of its content were deleted by her. To my surprise, she even clicked the ‘save’ button and now the only choice for me is to ‘undo’ the things she has done. Thank God for there is a ‘undo’ button which undo the last several actions done in the word document.
As I was doing the same, several mistakes that I have done came before my eyes. I imagined it would have been better if I have undone that action of mine in the past. As we entered into this new year, how many of you have stopped and worried about our past mistakes which could have been avoided by us?
I’ve made a lot of mistakes during my lifetime, which when I look back and sit before God, I cry to Him for hurting Him due to my actions. But the fact is, those things can’t be undone.
But there is a other way out. Our Heavenly Father is so gracious enough to forgive (and forget) our sins when we repent.
1 John 1:9 says,
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
When we realise our past sins and mistakes which we have done, we could not undo those actions. But remember, they are forgiven.
Let us surrender our past before Him this new year, and commence it with a clean state to live our life the way He called us and created us in.
